The timetable for both the Southern Area champs on Saturday 11th September and the Marathon Champs on Sunday 12th September is now available to download.
The Marathon champs follows on the day after our Southern Champs on a specially extended 25km loop of the entire Pippingford estate! This really is one not to be missed - get more information at www.nationalxcchamps.co.uk/marathon.
What a great day at Alton. It was wet in the sky but curiously dry on the ground. That might be the best weather we've ever had at Chawton Park! Results are now up in the event details section of the site.
Our next events is the Southern Champs at Pippingford Park on Saturday 11th September, followed by the National Marathon Champs the day after.
This weekend is the 5th round of the SouthernXC Series at Old Park Farm, Alton, Hampshire. The course goes the opposite way round to last year, mainly on the woods fast, established singletrack, occasionally dropping through a gulley or bomb hole. In most of the categories the series standings are still wide-open so we're expecting a good turn out and some fast racing as people try to make their way on to the series podium.
Pre-entries are open till tomorrow (Tuesday 17th August), or you can enter on the day.

Also, Andrew Cockburn in the elite race had a helmet cam! The first 10 minutes of the elite race from this unique perspective are now up on YouTube. As my partner said, "Is it speeded up?"

We've got a mention on the BC site with some action shots of us course clearing a few weeks ago. The course is now finished and rides really well. We're looking forward to a good event on Sunday, helped along by some fine weather. See you there!

Charlotte is a registered therapist of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage (ISRM) and has a BTEC Professional Diploma (Level 4) in Sport and Remedial Massage from the London School of Sports Massage (LSSM). She is also a qualified first aider.
The course could best be described as Pippingford, but without such extreme hills. We're really pleased with how it's shaping up. The course runs through a mix of woodland, round lakes and through streams. There's some really nice singletrack and a few bombholes too.

The SMBC team were hard at work last weekend cutting new singletrack for Crow Hill. As you can see, there was plenty to do and Murph had to remember how to climb a tree :)
